The person behind the Duck...
Hello, and welcome to Duck & Book Cottage.
My name is Sara Didier, and my love of books began almost as soon as I could read. Books have offered adventure, comfort, escape, and a place where I've always felt at home. They helped me discover the world—and, in many ways, helped me discover myself.
I have recently completed my PhD, a journey that deepened my appreciation for research, writing, and the power of words. Alongside my academic life, my lifelong passion for reading has continued to flourish.
Over the years, that love has grown into a personal library of more than 4,500 books, from treasured antiques to contemporary fiction, with new additions finding their way onto the shelves almost every day.
Although I don't yet live in the cottage of my dreams, I do have a cosy library complete with my favourite reading chair, a cuddly duck, and a rather fierce blue book dragon who keeps watch over the shelves and protects them from any wandering book monsters.
Duck & Book Cottage was created from a simple belief: every story deserves to be loved, nurtured, and given the opportunity to grow. Whether I'm beta reading a manuscript, promoting an author, or sharing thoughtful book reviews, my aim is always to celebrate the joy found within every book and help connect stories with the readers who will treasure them.
